Could your child be Young Pea Chef of the Year?

Is your child a budding chef? Who happens to like peas?

If so we strongly encourage them to run for Young Pea Chef of the Year, a competition supported by Waitrose. Yes, it really exists.  TV chef Rachel Green is one of the judges.

The Young Pea Chef of the Year will have created an inventive and delicious recipe using peas as the main ingredient. It can be a starter, main, dessert or quick snack.

And the prize? A bundle of cookery equipment from Waitrose for their school worth £500.

There are no strict rules as to which ingredients you use and you may use as many or as little as you like – all the judges ask is that you use peas as the main ingredient. Parental help is permitted!

Entries must include a brief list of ingredients, cooking method and a photo or video of the aspiring young pea chef with their completed recipe.

The competition opens on 14 September 2015 and closes on 12 February 2016 for children aged under 12 years old.
