I decided to create Mumfidential in the weeks following the birth of my first son, Hector, when I spent many hours on Google, trying to work out what the hell I was supposed to be doing. I hadn’t done NCT as he arrived early and I’d been too superstitious to buy any baby kit (let alone parenting books) before he was born. Routines, sleep, Bugaboos and breastfeeding were all completely alien to me. I don’t know about you but I find many of the baby articles online to be smug, humourless and thin in substance. Rather than giving me confidence/ good advice/ something to laugh about in those early weeks, they made me doubt myself (as if I wasn’t confused enough already!). And parenting forums weren’t always much help either: everyone was asking the same questions – and no one was answering them. Mumfidential doesn’t seek to be all things to all mothers, rather everything to a few. Our aim is to engage, inspire and entertain you through the highs and dark lows of motherhood. We’d like to be what you read when you’ve finally got some time to yourself. Our small editorial team is made up of parents who are also successful journalists along with parenting experts. We give our writers free rein to discuss the topics closest to their heart. We ask only that their articles are honest, helpful and well researched, imparting expert advice wherever relevant. In order to succeed we need your help! Please let us know what or who you’d like to read and watch. If you’d like to write an article for us or join the Mumfidential team please contact anna (at)
