Book of the week: Please Mr Panda

Nothing makes a toddler giggle more than someone else being told ‘NO’.

And this is the gist of Please Mr Panda, a beautifully illustrated story book by Steve Anthony.

Panda has a tray of doughnuts. He politely offers them to all the animals he meets. They all say they want one but it’s only Lemur, who says ‘please’, who gets to eat one. In fact he ends up eating the whole lot.

“There’s a new pre-school politeness tsar in town” The Times

It’s a stylist lesson in manners (they will get you EVERYTHING) – and human behaviour: Panda, it transpires, doesn’t even like donuts.
