Always so exciting to discover a new #cookbook This one is AMAZING 🤩 The Little Growers Cookbook 🪴 It’s part gardening book, part cookbook, filled with cooking and outdoor activities for the family and delicious recipes. As you can see I homed straight in on the chocolate 🍰 but there are healthy things too such as pumpkin and courgette fritters and 10 veg soup 🍲. One of my fav activities is the little bird seed feeders made out of 🍊 and 🍋. What a great idea. What a great book. RECOMMEND

I’ll never forget the gloomy weeks surrounding my first miscarriage. I was on bed rest for a week, in the hope that my twins might make it but they didn’t. Thankfully I had a compassionate boss, and I stayed at home to recover for a few days. Even so, when I returned to the office the following week I was a wreck. I could just about hold it together in front of my colleagues but the sense of loss was still so raw. It was all I could think about really. I felt let down by my body and struggled to think positively about the future. Great news from New Zealand, therefore, that mothers and their partners are being offered bereavement leave. Labour MP Ginny Andersen, who presented the bill, said it would allow parents to come to terms with their loss without being forced to use up their sick leave entitlements. “The grief that comes with miscarriage is not a sickness; it is a loss,” she said. “That loss takes time – time to recover physically and time to recover mentally; time to recover with a partner.” #miscarriage #miscarriageawareness #miscarriagesupport

The greatest gift we can give our children is to teach them and show them that ALL their emotions are normal, and that they are all okay.

It is normal to have feelings. 👍

It is good to talk about feelings.👍

It is important to share feelings.👍

Everyone expresses their feelings in their own special way.👍

Imagine how our relationships would be different if we’d grown up receiving the message:

“Off course you feel that way, you are human.”

Like many people I know, I grew up thinking there were three emotions: happy, angry and sad.

Angry wasn’t acceptable, can you calm down please or go to your room until you’ve settled down?

Sad was met with a tissue. (Please wipe the tears away and wash your face).

The goal was always to always be HAPPY!

Unpleasant feelings are a part of living a valuable life but it’s what we do with those difficult feelings and how we learn to regulate them that is key to living with all the ups and downs of our emotional lives.

One thing that has helped me become more emotionally literate has been to develop a more nuanced emotional vocabulary to describe the way I’m actually feeling.

You’re not sure what day of the week it is but it doesn’t matter because all the days are the same. 💤 There is work and school and meals and laundry, always laundry. There is nothing to do at weekends, no holidays to look forward to, just going to the common for the 40,000th time.
