If you’re planning to take your toddler to Covent Garden this Christmas (and if you are, full credit to you), don’t miss the enormous LEGO train which has pulled up in the main Piazza.
Designed by Duncan Titmarsh , the man who probably has the best job in the country, the UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional, and made with 500,000 bricks, the LEGO Christmas Express took eight people about three months to build.
There are three carriages, the engine and driver’s cabin, a carriage full of presents and another carriage for the Christmas tree. Smoke pours from the funnel, lights flash and a whistle blows.
The train is LEGO’s fifth Christmas build: past installations have included a 30m Christmas tree and a walk-through snow globe.
- You can find The LEGO Santa Express on the North/East Covent Garden Piazza, from 26th November to 29th December 2015.
