Designer children’s clothing has taken off in recent years, but it is rare to find a high-fashion, highly covetable label that is so ethically and environmentally on the button, so we were very happy to stumble across RaspberryPlum.
It’s not enough just to design cute clothing
An organic designer children’s fashion label based in London that has taken off since its launch last year, RaspberryPlum was founded by Aleksandra Stasici, a graduate from London’s Royal College of Art, and has already scooped several awards for its original, colour-blocked designs. But “it’s not enough just to design cute clothing,” says Aleksandra.
Using organic fabrics and recycled packaging, RaspberryPlum clothing is all manufactured in Aleksandra’s native Serbia, where she hopes to help revive what was once a thriving apparel industry, near ruined over the last two years by political unrest. With this in mind, the brand recently started work with a non-profit that supports dying crafts. It made the pom-poms on next season’s socks.
As a special offer to readers, RaspberryPlum is offering an exclusive 15 per cent off its range. Just enter code mumfidential15% when ordering online before 22 October 2015.
Here are some of our top picks….
A quilted, colour-blocked baby onesie/ romper/ dungarees? Too much!
A hand-knitted cotton cardigan with accents of colour-blocking, this is a smart, well-fitting cardigan for boys. A Christmas Day choice perhaps?
The socks and tights range at RaspberryPlum is, for us, the cherry on the cake of the collection. These colourful asymmetric tights might be making their way into a Christmas stocking this year.
One of RaspberryPlum’s signature designs, this cute girls’ dress is made from soft, textured jersey with a mini stars jacquard pattern all over.
Another design we would cheerfully wear ourselves, this super-soft brushed cotton jersey top in plum is an autumnal winner for little girls.
