In 2008, Marina and Philip Thompson did what many of us dream of doing. They gave up their life in London, and, with their young son in tow, went in search of adventure around South America. Swapping baby groups for bareback riding, sandwiches for freshly baked empanadas, and the local park for forests, fireflies, and alligators, they embraced a nomadic way of life and were inspired to create Waddler Clothing.
Weaving together their adventures and experiences in South America with the millenarian traditions of the people who make them, Waddler Clothing has evolved to encompass a wonderfully inspiring and original range of baby and children’s clothing. Using low-impact alpaca wool and the softest Pima cotton from Peru, Marina and Philip work with small workshops and artisans and ensure that all their knitters are paid three times the minimum wage. Seven years on, the Thompsons are now a family of five based in Brazil. They have no plans to return.
