I’ve always liked the idea of jewellery that celebrates the birth of a baby (or babies) but the bracelets and necklaces you find on the internet are often ugly, naff or twee when you consider them from an onlooker’s perspective.
And aren’t those baby foot paperweights rather weird? Maybe it’s just me.
These Matilda birthstone necklaces, however, are a more subtle, tasteful take on the genre.
They’re handmade to order by jeweller Jacqueline Ashworth, and you can have gem stones for each of your children (and their father too if you feel he warrants it). You can also choose the type of chain and the length.
The first necklace was made for Jacqueline’s daughter Emilie, after the birth of her daughter Matilda last year. Emilie loved the necklace so much that she persuaded her mother to start a business with her.
They’ve been creating beautiful necklaces for mums ever since and are already so popular that they ended up in Tatler this December.
